Favorite place to ride: Western Mass, Mohawk Trail, Colrain, Greenfield, Charlemont, Amherst
Most memorable bike trip: Just before Halloween 1987 my wife and I visited my Brother in Greenfield, Ma. We were riding our Honda - Shadow. When leaving Greenfield we stopped and bought a 5 lb. pumpkin, then stopped again and bought a gallon of cider. I love antiques, so we stopped again and I purchased an antique scythe. Needless to say, we were the focus of many on the long ride home. Of particular interest was the scythe blade rising above us, the 4 ft handle tethered (securely) to the "sissy bar".

Most memorable bike trip: I had been riding for about 3 months and a couple of friends of mine wanted to ride to Lake George via the Mohawk Trail on Rt. 2. This would be my first real "bike trip" and I was very excited about the ride. When we left our houses it was raining, but that was OK because the weathermen said the skies would clear, and it's not like they're ever wrong. Right? Well, it rained the entire way to Lake George. The next week I bought a quality rain suit.

I went through several twisting canyons and coasted over the Hoover Dam at 4:30 am- absolutely spectacular!! On the way home I spent most of the ride trying to out-run a rain front and watching the desert lightning displays. I highly recommend a desert run to anyone; one tip- make sure your tires are in perfect condition; the weather and the heat wore mine down to cords!!!
