Training Wheels

Testimonials

Hear what the students had to say!

Good morning Dan (Furness),

I want to thank you for a wonderful experience in learning how to ride. You are right. It is just the beginning! I am extremely grateful and will pass on my praise to Traningwheels regarding what a wonderful teacher you are. You made the difference for a lot of us out there over the weekend. You are an amazing teacher who shows support, guidance, positive feedback, patience and a tremendous amount of knowledge regarding riding.

I honestly look at this experience and realize how lucky I am to have crossed your path. Training Wheels is a lucky and fortunate company to have a teacher who is as passionate and dedicated to teaching as yourself. Most importantly, teaching us the variables to prevent hazards and "break the chain" is invaluable.

Dan, I cannot express my thanks enough to you and your team!

Ride On! Ride Safe!

The Instructor was Jason Michonski and he was better than great.

At 58, I hadn't ridden for 25 years (Triumph Bonneville 650 was last time) but got a H-D Deuce 2 years ago and soon realized I had some bad habits and was lacking in street defensive driving knowledge. Jason cured both of these problems above and beyond.

I was a Air Force pilot for 8 years and a Delta Airlines pilot for 25 years. I've seen a lot of instructor technique during hands on intensive training. Jason tops the list. His way with words, real life examples and outgoing professional but friendly personality allowed our class to absorb and apply all that he taught. Our class bonded because of him and we all now have new riding friends who know safe bike riding.

Thank you for hiring him. Whatever standards you use in hiring Instructors, keep it up.

Respectfully yours,

PH of East Falmouth on April 30, 2007

I've just completed my basic rider course (April 21 & 22) in Framingham and I've never felt that I've gotten my money's worth out of a training course as much as I have with yours. My instructors were Gary and Dan. They were very professional yet never lost their humanity or sense of humor. They truly cared about what they taught as well as making sure we all understood the techniques and instructions. After I get some time on the road, I will certainly take the ERC.

I had a great time and I can't recommend the course enough! Keep up the great work and THANK YOU again Dan & Gary.

Kind regards,

JK of Methuen on April 26, 2007

I just wanted to shout out a big, huge THANK YOU to Dan, Bill & Elise for a great two days of training on 4/12 & 4/13/2007. As you know, I was in a class of 12 (6 men, 6 women) and not only did we learn so many valuable tips for safe motorcycling, we had a blast riding in the pouring rain! (well, not too much of a blast, but it was very good experience) - hence, the importance of rain gear!

I truly appreciated Dan & Bill's hints and comments to help us improve as we went along. You guys made the course a fun, stress free two days. Not to mention how great it was to receive my motorcycle license on Friday the 13th!

I purchased my first bike on 2/11/07, and, never having ridden one before, I did not want to even attempt it until I took the safety course. Well, as I mentioned previously, I got my license yesterday and this morning I rode my own bike for the first time ever - I just got right on it and that was it. What a great feeling it was vroom, vroooming through my neighborhood - oh, did I mention my pipes were really loud?

My first bike Anyway, of course you just knew I would have to enclose a picture of me & the bike, a 1999 Heritage Softail Classic. This pic was taken this morning, as I was returning from my first ride.

Thank you guys again so, so much for a wonderful two days - you made it fun and safe for all of us, and we learned so much from you! I have and will continue to recommend the TRAINING WHEELS course very highly to everyone.

Just viewed the photos and printed one for keep sake. Had the best time learning. Took the course July 22nd & 23rd in Brockton. Much thanks to Dan & Jeff - you guys were awsome. I think everyone should take this course. Still looking for my dream bike. As Jeff kept saying "lets ride". Someday soon I hope to say that too Jeff...... Best Wishes

I just completed the MSF course at the Brockton site. Ken was my classroom instructor, and Dan was my riding coach. I can't say enough about the quality instruction and the patient, supportive approach provided by my teachers. On day one, out on the course, I was petrified that I would either drop the bike or not be able to shift. By the end of the second day, I passed with flying colors, both the written and technical parts of the tests. Even more than the excellent beginning skills that I learned, I gained confidence to further challenge myself out in the "real world", as Dan puts it. I am at a point now that I can focus on riding, not on how to operate the bike. If I had not taken this class, riding would not be as much fun because I'd still have the fear of not being able to handle the bike. Now I understand how much fun it can be, and I'm going shopping for my first ride. Not a Harley, yet, but soon enough.

Thanks again, Dan and Ken.
See you on the road.

I owned my first bike in 1963; that makes me old. I mostly took the Training Wheels BRC course to get the insurance discount. I ended up haveing a lot of fun and learned a few thing to boot. Jeff has it all together and if you do not learn a thing or two, it's your own fault.

WOW! There is no other place to learn to ride a motorcycle than Training Wheels. This was the second time I took the course and Training Wheels is the best by far. Six years ago I took the course with another company and I didn't pass the course. What makes Training Wheels stand out among the rest is they teach you everything you need to know without practicing the art of intimidation.

My instructor was Elise and she was awesome. For me taking the course again was a must to prove I could ride a motorcycle and get my license. I have to admit I was scared I wouldn't pass but I needed to face my fears. Elise gave me the confidence and skills to prove I could do this thing. If at any point I got frustrated Elise would say stop over thinking. She knew exactly what was going on in my head and encouraged me to just keep going. Also, Jason came to help out the second day and he was great too! They both tell you what adjustments you need to make after each exercise and cheer you on!

All I can tell you is I had a blast! As the instructors tell you what is most important is that you leave the course with the skills to ride SAFETLY. If you're thinking of taking the course JUST DO IT!! I traveled almost 2 hours to take the course with Training Wheels and it was well worth it!

Just finished an Easter weekend Basic Rider Course at Training Wheels in Plympton, MA with Elise Donohue.

She made it seem easy to learn how to ride a motorcycle and kept the class fun, interesting, and safe as could be.

I've had half a dozen MC permits but have never made it to a class M license cause I couldn't find a bike to use for practice and the road test so this was exactly what I was looking for. It's tough to find someone to let you borrow their bike because they have a lot of money and pride invested in their machines not to mention if it got damaged insurance would not cover it.

The Basic Rider Course provides training motorcycles and a good safe place to learn and practice. Outback there's a paved area that's marked off with cones to ride around. The classroom was modern and comfortable, and had clean restrooms, and coffee.

I recommend this class to anyone who is serious about learning to ride a motorcycle safely!

This is our favorite one!
Just to let you know that I took the Training Wheels course two seasons ago in Bourne - It was a great experience and I felt totally comfortable and secure - in fact, I went out the day after the course and bought a bike! Not only that - but I was lucky enough to meet someone who also took the course that weekend.

We started dating the following week and we are now living together in Rochester (and yes we both have Harley's). Thank you again for teaching such a great course!

I had the pleasure and good fortune to take the Training Wheels Basic Rider Course over this past weekend, April 1&2, in Bourne with Jason Michonski and Geoff Way. Their approach to the course was highly professional, familiarity with the materials was extensive, and their sincere interest in ensuring we left the course with thorough knowledge could not have been more genuine. I know I have returned to the road a much more informed driver, and have a much better understanding of the motorcycle on the road than I had before I took the course.

I want to Thank You for the Training Wheels course that I took last weekend (August 6-7).

I must tell you that both Bill and Geoff are excellent teachers! Besides being highly skilled, they were excellent communicators, giving clear directions and instructions, and repeating them as needed (and in different ways for those of us with thick heads) without being redundant.

Our entire groups were 'rookies'. Their patience was endless. Both were sensitive to our fears and insecurities, and encouraged us to do better with positive coaching. No matter how well I did or how badly I screwed up, they found something positive to say, and something specific and constructive for me to improve on the next time around.

For someone who had never operated a motorcycle at all, my goal for the weekend was to learn how to operate the controls and coast around in 1st gear. The fact that I was able to pass the course and earn my certificate is solely due to the effective teaching and coaching of Bill and Geoff. As a 22 year veteran teacher and athletic coach, I can appreciate their skills as instructors.

It was a long way from northern Vermont for me to take this course, but it was worth every mile, minute and dollar! Thank You again...

I just completed the Training Wheels Basic Riding Course at the Brockton location.

Ken was my riding instructor and Carl taught the classroom session. I was very impressed with how much I was able to learn in only two days. I had never been on a motorcycle before Saturday and thanks to a great instructor I was able to pass the final evaluation without any difficulty on Sunday.

I can't say enough positive things about how great the instructors were.

They made the class really fun, and really stressed safety first. I now have the confidence to ride a motorcycle (the correct way). I can't wait for my license to arrive and start shopping around for a bike.

I really feel this class was worth every penny.

I just wanted to thank you for teaching me how to ride. Last weekend, I took the Training Wheels riding course in Brockton and not only did I learn alot, but I met alot of great people and had fun. My two instructors, Bob and Jeff were both very informative and nice guys. Prior to the course I had never ridden before although I had a bike, they got me riding in no time. I had some doubts if I could really learn to ride in one weekend, but with the help from Training Wheels I'm having a hard time getting off my bike. I'll be sure to reccomend you to all my friends and hopefully go back next year for the experienced course. Thank you very much.

I have just successfully taken and passed the Training Wheels BRC Course in Brockton. I am 57, a businessman and educator and had never ridden a Motorcycle before last week. I took my Learners Permit Test early in June and signed up for the two day BRC course under the instruction of Ken Whitcher.

Ken is an excellent instructor both in the classroom and on the course. He is encouraging, patient and does a terrific job at connecting with and communicating with his students. I have taken some intense firearms classes, and without a doubt, these two days of BRC training were the most knowledgeable, intense, demanding and rewarding courses I have ever taken.

This week, I bought my first ride, a 2004 Honda Shadow Aero, and I feel the same elation and pride as I did when I got my first car and my driver's license way back when. Next week, my MC License will arrive in the mail, and all I need to do is to practice and execute the skills, knowledge and understanding of MC techniques I received from the Training Wheels class.

Next year, I hope to take the ERC course. Thank you Ken and all the Instructors who assisted us. You folks do an excellent job and I wish you and all the students who sign up continued success and safe riding.

I have to admit I was pretty nervous taking the Training Wheels course myself, but I was impressed with both Carl and Jason...They were both very patient and helpful. They made the course fun while also addressing the seriousness of being safe. I had so much fun with both my kids it was one of the most rewarding experiences. I have always enjoyed riding on the back of my husband's bike and never really considered trying to ride on my own, but I am looking forward to us having this in common with so many other generation gaps it's nice to have a bridge. I just can't say enough to praise Carl and Jason I know my husband would never have the patients to teach me to ride. They never raised their voices, never put anyone down, never made us feel stupid if we didn't get something right away and we succeeded. I was so proud to come home and show my husband my card. Neither he nor my kids thought I could pass it and I did..and I did fairly well...I attribute that to the fact that I was helped when I wasn't sure and not made to feel stupid. That really makes a difference when you are trying to learn something new.

I just completed the Training Wheels training course in Brockton, with my daughter on Saturday. Neither one of us has ever been on a motorcycle...for me it's later in life and something I've always wanted to try. Without this type of course, there's no way I would have even attempted it.

THE most important factor to me was the quality of your instructors. We had Bob in class and Ken on the course. Bob was a great teacher. His low key approach together with his depth of knowledge really made the class enjoyable, as well as educational. Ken was just incredible on the course. He had four "newbies" including my daughter and myself. His patience, encouragement, teaching skills and unending optimism were incredible. There's no way we could have made it through the course without him. On the second day, his group of six students were together waiting for our course time and everyone was so complimentary about Ken and very happy to have him our instructor. Because of Ken, my daughter and I left the course with a great foundation, really understanding the level we're at and now have a sensible, safe plan for starting out on the road.

Your program is amazing, your instructors are the best and you provide an incredible service to the public. Thanks so much. ....And I'm already in discussions with a group at work to sign up for your Expert level training next year.

I just want to say I took your Training Wheels course this past weekend, And the only way I can describe it was Awesome. The instructors (Jason & Carl) were not only the best, But for two day's kept my attention on what they were teaching us. There was never a dull moment. I own a 05 Road King, And I went into the course thinking this was the best way to get my license, instead of taking the road exam at the RMV. And Sunday I walked away with more knowledge about handling and safety than I could have ever expected. Thanks so much for an awesome weekend.

I just wanted to drop a e-mail to tell you that I attended the Training Wheels basic course this past weekend in Bourne with Jason & Carl. They did a great job with this class. This is the first time that I have been on a bike and I am 51. I bought a bike last week and waited to ride it until I took this course. When I got home Sunday and the rain let up I went for a 25 mile ride. What a feeling. Cootoes to the instructors Jason & Carl.

Just sending you an evaluation of the Training Wheels class I took last weekend (April 23 & April 24). My instructors were Patti Deluca and Carl DeNinno. The course was great and I learned how to ride a motorcycle(first time ever) and how to ride safely. Patti and Carl were very knowledgeable and seemed to really enjoy teaching the class. Patti gave us our instructions and was very good about repeating herself and making sure we really understood what she was saying. She is a born teacher. Carl did our demonstrations with great enthusiasm. He was very good about making sure we took our time and rode safely. Both Patti and Carl are an asset to your program and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

I attended the Training Wheels ERC on 15 April 2005 at Camp Edwards, MA. The instructors were Paula & Steven Sheaffer. This was without a doubt the most fun I have had in a long time. The instructors were competent and confident and took the time to provide individual feedback/coaching to participants. Their demeanor was encouraging and instructive. I felt very comfortable learning from them. In the span of the course, by confidence in myself and my bike increased dramatically. I have never had any formal instruction, and they helped me to learn the right way and get rid of my bad habits. I will recommend this course to others. Thank you for a great experience.
